We Can Trust The Government, Right?

The second amendment is the most attacked of all of the rights given to us by the founders. They understood an armed people could always be a more independent people,  a more responsible people, a people better able to defend themselves.
But as our public education system began bringing everyone down to the lowest common denominator, being independent and responsible has become less important.
Until I went through Basic Training, I had never been around guns, my Dad had several, but he was a collector-never got them out, never fired them.
Now, however, I have a conceal-carry permit. I read history, I see what’s coming. Countries that outlaw weapons have more crime: the police can’t be everywhere, the bad guys know you’re not packing and VOILA, you’re vulnerable. America may not outlaw guns in my lifetime, but it probably will in the lifetime of my kids.
You see the celebrities on TV who endorse ‘gun control,’ but they have armed guards for themselves and their kids. They are saying they are more important than you and we, well not me but we as a people, keep going to their movies and buying their music while they look down their noses at us and laugh;  AND THEY SHOULD.
I’m not for or anti guns, but I believe if you want a gun to defend what you hold dear, your neighbor shouldn’t vote for a law that takes that right away.
If you want your kids safe at school, you don’t need a new law banning pistols with more than eleven rounds in the clip. If you want your spouse safe, you don’t need a background check from an eight year old who gets a gun from his Dad on his birthday. Both of those insane proposals are what is being debated on Capitol Hill. These laws won’t be passed this time around, but they will be passed, and that will be step closer to a national registry being kept of everyone in the country that has a gun, and the eventual elimination of weapons.
Do I sound paranoid? Probably, but that does not make me any less right.
If guns are outlawed, no one will ever, ever, ever, ever be shot again, right? Tell that to Illinois, New York and California: states that allow only law enforcement to carry weapons. They should have lower crime, right? It’s higher there than anywhere else in the country. But its not the facts this hypocritical self righteous living brain donors want-its control. When you are vulnerable, you are dependent on them-they make the rules.
As long as the second amendment stands we-in theory-can retain some part of our freedom.

Are We For or Against Israel?

Americans like to think we have a tight relationship with Israel, but let's examine that and see if that is a valid statement.
It was Harry Truman who worked to set land aside for the Israelites in 1948. Truman, whose formal education did not exceed high school was self taught in both history and theology and saw that everyone had land they called home except God's chosen and he believed it a disgrace.
1948 was an election year, and this was not an easy decision for Truman to make as it was not assured he would win reelection. Even members of his own cabinet swore they would vote against him if he helped the Jews. Truman, however, listened to a Higher Authority and did what he believed right regardless.
America and Israel did have a strong relationship in the beginning. This included Lyndon Johnson, who could be arguably the worse president in American history. Johnson had no moral compass, but even he, in his ineffectual ineptitude, knew not to mess with Israel.  Johnson's had fine tuned political skills and this may have represented his continual quest for popularity, but he would be the last Democratic President that did not try to sabotage it.
Fast forward to the 39th president, James Earl Carter, Jr. He became president after Gerald Ford assumed the presidency from Nixon in 1974. This despite the fact that Ford, in a complete disregard of the American Electoral System, did not seek, did not run for, nor received a single vote for either president or vice-president. Voters became convinced Ford had made a deal with Nixon to pardon him in exchange for the presidency.
Carter appeared a good choice: a former military leader (and rocket scientist no less), a small business owner, and a southern boy who loved God, Momma and Country.
I can say personally President Carter is a moral man, a Godly man, but one who is naive. He's the only military man I've ever known who believed that absolute peace was possible through negotiation: it never has been possible nor will it ever be. Romans 7:18-19 says For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.  For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. As a Sunday School teacher, Carter knows that Men are a fallen species and even if they want to do good, they can not.
But he desperately believes a peaceful Middle east is possible, even writing a book on the subject about a decade ago. This is despite the fact that Ishmael’s decedents (the Arabs) and Isaac’s descendants  (the Israelites) fight today as they did in the time of the forefathers. It was during Carter’s time at Camp David (the President’s retreat) that the first crack in the foundation occurred as Carter sided with Arab terrorist Yassar Arafat and called the Israel Prime Minister unreasonable for refusing to negotiate. After almost a week of badgering, a treaty was signed, everyone shook hands, and America’s diplomatic efforts harkened back to the days of Neville Chamberlain who as British Prime Minister in the 1930’s convinced everyone Hitler was a nice guy who just wanted what was fair.
The next two presidents were too interested in other issues and left Israel alone. However, it was the ineptitude of George H.W. Bush  who would bring the next democrat to the White House. Bush would be the exception to the rule that declaring war would be the surest way to win re-election. Despite the Gulf war in which Americans got rid of Saddam Hussein, except we didn’t, the country that claims to honor marriage and veterans, turned out a WWII war hero to elect a philandering draft-dodger.
His successor, William Jefferson Clinton would not have gotten elected if Bush had even minimally understood what he was doing domestically. The new president was, like Carter, a southerner, but the similarities ended there.
Clinton would reside over what would become known as the Oslo Agreement because it would be held in Oslo, Norway. The summit was between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization. In it, Israel agreed to stop defending the Gaza strip for a five year period during which period another agreement could be reached. Like most of those in the Democrat Party, Clinton is anti-gun, anti liberty, and anti individual.
Finally we come to the current occupant Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Barry (his nickname in high school) appeals to the lowest common denominator of every group you could mention. To say he is the worse president in my life time would be a given: to say he is the worse in our history is very near a possibility but to say he is the worse in term of Israel is a definite. If he could, he would install Muslims rulers in every country of the world, but since he is a Muslim that is understandable. How America could elect a Muslim and believe he is friend to Israel is incomprehensible: but then so is the mind of most voters.
